I am a biologist and a nature photographer and I love to share my passion and my knowledge. I also have an extensive experience in organizing expeditions through Africa (just browse through my website).
This photographic expedition is limited to only 6-7 people (with a absolute minimum of 3 guests) who will be taken to all the best places at the best time of the day. Small groups are important to connect with nature and I want to keep it that way.
Be ready to explore the wilderness and discover the exquisite beauty of the Namib Desert.
This adventure is not only a photographic safari, it is a journey of discovery and exploration, especially about yourself.
The Namib desert extends along the coast of Namibia, merging with the Kaokoveld in the north and south with the Karoo.
The name "Namib" is of Nama origin and means "vast place".
Having endured arid or semi-arid conditions for at least 55 million years, it is considered to be the oldest desert in the world.
The Namib supports unusual species of plants and animals, many of which are endemic and highly adapted to this arid climate, such as a large variety of succulent plants, and the bizzare very old Welwitschia mirabilis.
The Namib-Naukluft National Park, that extends over a large part of the Namib desert, is the largest game reserve in Africa and one of the largest of the world.
The Southern Namib is mainly a vast dune sea with some of the tallest and most spectactular dunes of the world, ranging in color from pink to vivid orange. In the Sossusvlei area, several dunes exceed 300 meters in height.
