WHERE IS THAT AIRCRAFT LANDING?

My little 7-year old boy was calling me "Daddy, come quickly I want to show you the sky, it is so beautiful!".

Yes indeed it was truly amazing to see this aircraft flying over False Bay at sunset and leaving that bright jet stream behind for such a long time!

For the next 15 minutes, the whole family was watching the sunset from our balcony. We never have enough of these beautiful moments!

These are not great pictures but for me the most important is that I have succeeded in awaking my little boy to be aware of the beauty surrounding us, and this evening I was so proud once again that he took the lead to take the picture and called me to share the moment!

This is why I am starting this new blog on my site, where I will probably share more images than words. Here I will do my best to publish the more interesting photographs that I am shooting day after day. My intention is to inspire with natural beauty and share my experience.

But where is that aircraft landing? Any idea?

I can't figure out why the aircraft has made such a route to land behind table Moutain... this is highly strange, isn't it?

Amazing - saw it too.  Anyone in the airline industry who could guide us along the pathways of understanding here?

It isn't landing behind the mountain, it came from that direction and it is heading out upcountry. The contrail is wavy because there is a wind blowing left to right in the photo. The plane is actually at the sharp point where the contrail is being created . Beautiful photo James , you are so talented.

I am so impressed at this young age young James has an internationally published book with his sister Enya and now he is following in his Dad's footsteps as a brilliant photographer. Great stuff !!!
